Digital Repatriation

Given the contested, complex nature of physical repatriation of heritage assets, our choice as artists is to explore the concept of Digital Repatriation. We define it simply as creating bridges between heritage and new media ecosystems, with the intention to establish clear and sustainable benefits for creators and stakeholders in the Global South. Our interest is in developing roadmaps that include local communities and traditional creators in the economic streams of emergent creative economies such as video games, immersive media and generative AI.
